Pladot was established in 1945 in Kibbutz Ein Harod Meuhad; it is fully owned by the kibbutz. The factory's main areas of activity are concentrated in its Metals Division and MiniDairy Division. The company has vast experience in the development and manufacture of machines like VideoMat (rental video/DVD machines), for which the company also provides service in hundreds of locations throughout Israel. Pladot has been an approved manufacturer and supplier of the Israeli Ministry of Defense (MOD) for over 40 years. As such, it has been involved in the production of systems, subsystems and special parts for the Merkava tank since its development. Pladot has a long tradition of quality, know-how and reliability that come from the experience accumulated in its 60 years of operation. It is at the forefront of technology in the fields of design, machine tooling and welding, with some of the most advanced pieces of equipment in the world.The Metals Division deals with stainless steel, different types of aluminum, special steels and armor steel. It also produces hydraulic equipment, including pressure tanks and flexible, heat-resistant tubing. Among the customers of the Metals Davison are MOD, Israel Military Industries (IMI), Rafael, and other developers of aluminum and stainless steel products.Throughout the years, Pladot also gained vast experience in the design, production and installation of MicroDairy, equipment for food processing and sanitary pumps. The company's equipment is installed and operates in many locations in Israel and around the world.Pladot has vast experience in the design and production of stainless steel equipment for high-quality food processing in compliance with international quality standards like ISO 9000, CE and FDA 3A. Furthermore, Pladot is approved supplier to several chemical and food industries.The capability to manufacture automatic machines integrates several key factors, including design, development, accurate frames, tooling, electronics and control. Pladot manufactured hundreds of VideoMat machines for Blockbuster, most of which are deployed throughout the country. The company has a Service Center for these machines, which is equipped with an automated control center and backed up by experienced technicians that arrive at any machine location to provide rapid professional and technical assistance for any fault.Pladot employs approximately 70 people, including experienced engineers, technicians and food technologists.
